The one bedroom apartment was designed for medium to long-term lettings so the focus for the interior design project was the light and quality of the materials. The original layout was preserved while new finishes throughout provided a clean palette, cleansed of any extraneous elements. The architectural quality of the shell gives the space its character, the typical vernacular eaves of the external roof is reflected inside with a membrane ceiling material providing a clean and seamless surface. Window ledges, cast iron radiators and parquet timber flooring add additional metaphorical and physical warmth to the interiors. The selected furniture and art works are restrained in order to satisfy the brief but also lend character to the spaces.
