The project involved the refurbishment of an historical residential building with jewel-like precision highlighting some of the original features of the Modernisme style architecture. This listed building forms part of the built patrimony of the Poble-sec neighbourhood, the rough-hewn stone façade with cut stone detailing and decorative metal work is capped with a distinctive undulating parapet.
Internally the elaborate suelo hidráulico (encaustic tiles) pattern flooring, also typical of the era, was carefully removed, restored and replaced in the original location where possible after the historical building was made structurally sound.
The building now accommodates 7 apartments that preserve the tactile qualities of the original found materials. All the units are provided with exposed vaulted ceilings, brick panels and clean modern designer kitchens. The set back penthouse apartment benefits from a roof terrace with spectacular views over the entire city from its elevated vantage.
