The story

A listed 100-year-old Modernist building requiring complete renovation. An important objective was to preserve, restore and expose the original architectural features – such as wooden beams, characteristic Catalan vault ceilings, hydraulic tiles and red brick walls – while framing them in clean, neutral modern surroundings.

The solution

We implemented a complex and careful renovation and restoration. This included structural intervention, the construction and installation of an elevator, and the design and planning of 12 apartments. We also restored the protected historical façade, entrance hall and staircase.

We redesigned the interior to create compact 55sqm two-bedroom apartments on most floors. These were complemented by a ground-floor duplex and two penthouses built to the client’s specifications. Each apartment included architectural LED lighting and a wireless smart-home system.
